The Taliban’s police command in Balkh province has reported that one person was killed and 11 others injured in a traffic accident in the province.
Bakhtar News Agency, under Taliban control, reported on Sunday, September 20, that the incident occurred on the Mazar-e-Sharif–Kabul highway.
According to the Taliban’s police command, the accident was caused by driver negligence and failure to observe traffic rules.
Traffic accidents on Afghanistan’s highways have caused significant loss of life in recent years.
Driver negligence, excessive speed, and failure to follow traffic laws have been reported as some of the causes of such accidents.
