Local sources in the Hisa-I-Awal Bihsud district of Maidan Wardak province confirmed that armed nomads shot and killed a young Hazara man.
According to the sources, the young man, named Mojtaba Naqawi, was killed around 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, 29 July 2025, in the Shahr-e-Naw region of Hisa-I-Awal Bihsud district.
The sources added that Mojtaba was shot and killed by armed nomads after he attempted to prevent their livestock from encroaching on his farmlands.
It is noteworthy that conflicts between nomads and local villagers in the Behsud districts of Maidan Wardak province have a long history.
Since the Taliban’s return to power in Afghanistan, disputes involving nomads against Hazaras have increased in various provinces, including Maidan Wardak and Bamyan.
