Sources in Spin Boldak district of Kandahar say Pakistani military personnel shot and killed two Afghan drivers on a smuggling route between Chaman and Spin Boldak this morning.
Sources told the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Saturday, October 24, that the two drivers, Azizullah and Nematullah, had intended to enter Afghanistan illegally with the consent of Pakistani military personnel and the Taliban.
According to the sources, the families of both drivers live in Spin Boldak district.
The sources added that following the Taliban’s closure of official crossing points between Afghanistan and Pakistan, smuggling routes have been used for travel between the two countries.
According to the sources, smuggling along these routes is widespread and takes place with the consent of forces on both sides.
