The Taliban have declared approximately 24.4 hectares of land in Kabul’s Paghman district to be “state-owned” following a ruling by a special court established by the group.
The Taliban’s Ministry of Justice said in a statement on Saturday, October 17, that the special court handling cases involving usurped land in the central zone had declared the land “state-owned” after reviewing the relevant documents and evidence.
According to the statement, the land is located in the Arghandi Sufla area of Paghman district. The Taliban’s Commission for the Prevention of Land Usurpation and Recovery of Usurped Land had previously declared it “state-owned.”
The Taliban’s Ministry of Justice added that because some individuals were dissatisfied with the initial decision, the case had been referred to the group’s special court.
This comes as, over the five years since the Taliban seized power, citizens of Afghanistan have complained about the Taliban’s seizure of their land and homes.
