Local sources in Badghis report that a Taliban fighter driving a Ranger ran over and killed a child in this province.
According to sources speaking to Hasht-e Subh, the incident occurred on Wednesday, May 3, near the market in the Jund district of Badghis province.
The Ranger vehicle was reportedly affiliated with the security forces under Taliban command in the Jund district.
The victim of the incident was a boy between the ages of 8 and 10.
Taliban have not yet commented regarding the incident in Badghis.
This incident is not unprecedented, as the Taliban have been known to use military means to target non-combatants in the past. Two weeks ago, in a similar incident in Kapisa, seven people were killed or injured when a Taliban fighter clashed with an Auto Rickshaw carrying non-combatants.
