Faisal Karim Kundi, governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has accused Pakistan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party of receiving its political instructions from Kabul.
Speaking at a press conference in Peshawar on Monday, October 12, he said that the province’s policies would henceforth be determined in line with guidance from the federal government in Islamabad.
“PTI’s policies came from Kabul, but our policies will come from the federal government, not from anywhere else,” Kundi said.
The remarks come as Pakistani officials have repeatedly accused the Taliban of supporting and financing terrorist groups and providing them with safe havens in Afghanistan.
Pakistan’s Information Minister Attaullah Tarar also claimed on Monday, October 12, that more than 20,000 members of terrorist groups had taken refuge in Afghanistan.
The Taliban have repeatedly rejected these allegations, urging Islamabad to focus on resolving Pakistan’s internal problems instead of making accusations.
