Sources in Takhar said that local Taliban officials fired dozens of civil servants from various institutions in Takhar province for no apparent reason, replacing them with their affiliates.
An employee, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Hasht-e Subh on Thursday that Taliban officials in Takhar had fired 27 civil servants.
According to the civil servant, the Taliban even sent a message to the Independent Directorate of Local Governance (IDLG) that one of the employees who was still alive had died, asking that another person must be hired in his place.
The source stated that these employees had reported all their cases to the IDLG in a letter, but they had not received any response.
At the same time, a source in the IDLG confirmed this incident.
He said a man had reported to the office that he was alive, but that local Taliban officials had sent his letter of death from Takhar to Kabul, requesting that someone else be appointed in his post.
Another source in Takhar said that local Taliban had removed experienced staff from the statistics, transport, and education departments, replacing them with people unfamiliar with administrative work.
A Takhar resident said his father was the director of the population registry but was fired without justification.
According to him, his father was appointed to this position through free competition and had served for many years, but now he has been replaced by someone who is not even literate enough to carry out this mission.
An employee at the Department of Transportation in Takhar also said that despite being on duty, Taliban officials had fired him along with several other colleagues.
Instead of supporting the people in critical situations, local Taliban officials fired miserable staff and replaced them with their relatives, according to the transportation employee.
Other Takhar residents also complained about the current situation, saying that the newly hired people do not know how to do administrative work.
According to them, they are currently having problems during the documentation process and in some cases, they are waiting for weeks for their work to be done.
They call on the Taliban to take care of the civilians in the current situation, along with their own people, and help them in the administrative processes.
According to other rulings, managers of public health, courts, and judges of 34 provinces, including Takhar, were removed from their posts and replaced by Taliban affiliates.
