
The Taliban Announce Remaining Cabinet Members
8 Subh, Kabul: The Taliban on Tuesday, September 21, announced a list of remaining cabinet members and deputy ministers.
According to Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid, Haji Nooruddin Azizi has been appointed acting Minister of Commerce. Nooruddin Azizi is a resident of Panjshir province.
Haji Mohammad Bashir, a resident of Baghlan, has been appointed by the Taliban as First Deputy Minister of Commerce and Haji Mohammad Azim Sultan Zada as Second Deputy Minister.
The Taliban have appointed Qalandar Ibad as acting head of the Ministry of Public Health, Abdul Bari Omar, and Mohammad Hassan Ghiasi as his deputies.
In the new appointments, Mullah Mohammad Ibrahim has been appointed as the senior deputy security minister of the Ministry of Interior. Nazar Mohammad Motamin has also been appointed as the director of the National Olympic Committee.
Also, MujibulRahman Omar was appointed by the Taliban as Deputy Minister of Energy and Electricity, Ghulam Ghaus as Deputy Minister of Counter-Accidents, Mohammad Faqir as director of the Central Statistical Organization, Mohammad Gul Mohammad as Deputy Minister of Borders, Golzarin Kuchi as Second Deputy Minister of Borders, Arsala Kharoti As Deputy Minister of Refugees, Lotfatullah Khairkhah has been appointed as the Deputy Minister of Higher Education, and Najibullah has been appointed as the director of the Atomic Energy Department by the Taliban.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid told reporters that the appointments were based on their abilities. According to him, specialization in other branches of the Taliban government will also be considered.
The Taliban spokesman told reporters about the inclusiveness of the cabinet that this time the representatives of minorities are also included. According to him, Mohammad Hassan Ghiasi is a Hazara.
On September 7, the Taliban announced the formation of an interim government in Afghanistan. Their government, however, has not been recognized by any country since its formation. It has been criticized that the Taliban cabinet is not inclusive. Mujahid has also said that the inauguration ceremony had been canceled.
