US President Donald Trump has said Russia is doing “very little” to help Iran compared with what it could be doing.
Al Jazeera reported early Monday, October 19, that Trump made the remarks in a post on his own social media platform.
According to the report, Trump said Russia had not helped Tehran during the war between the United States and Israel on one side and Iran on the other.
“Russia is doing very little to help the Islamic Republic of Iran, compared with what it could be doing — if it is doing anything at all — and I want it to stay that way. And that is how it will remain, unless some stupid people get in the way,” Trump said.
Meanwhile, numerous reports of Russian arms and intelligence assistance to Iran during the war with the United States have appeared in international media.
Trump has previously also dismissed the significance of military assistance from Russia and China to Iran during its war with the United States.
