Residents of Sheberghan, the capital of Jawzjan province, and Andkhoy district in Faryab province held ceremonies to commemorate Turkmen culture.
Sources told the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Thursday, Sept. 24, that the events were held on the occasion of Turkmen National Language Day on Sept. 24, with the aim of commemorating the day and promoting Turkmen language and culture.
At a ceremony held in Sheberghan to commemorate Turkmen culture and language, Turkmen activists emphasized the need to promote the language and culture.
In another ceremony at a private school in Andkhoy, children wore traditional Turkmen clothing and displayed garments and items associated with Turkmen culture.
