US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan met to discuss bilateral cooperation on regional issues.
Rubio wrote on X early Tuesday, September 29, that he had met with his Saudi counterpart on Monday.
The US secretary of state said he discussed bilateral cooperation with Faisal bin Farhan on regional security and stability.
“I met with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan to discuss and exchange views on our bilateral cooperation on regional security and stability, including Iran, Gaza, Sudan, and Yemen,” he wrote.
This comes as tensions between Iran and the United States continue in the region, while fighting between Saudi Arabia and Yemen’s Houthi movement has intensified.
