The Yemeni army has claimed that 1,540 Houthi fighters were killed or wounded over the past 24 hours following 474 airstrikes and operations targeting Houthi positions.

Al Jazeera reported early Saturday, October 3, that Majed al-Nazili, a spokesperson for the Yemeni army, made the claim, saying most of the casualties among Houthi fighters were reported in Taiz.

According to the report, the Yemeni army said the attacks on Houthi positions were carried out using fighter jets, drones, artillery, missiles and rocket launchers.

The Yemeni armed forces also claimed that at least 216 military vehicles and other equipment belonging to the group were destroyed in the attacks.

According to the army spokesperson, the operations covered areas stretching from southern Haradh and the coastal strip to Kataf, Al Jawf, Marib, Al Bayda, Lahij, Sana’a and Saada.

Meanwhile, the Houthis have also claimed that airstrikes they attributed to Saudi Arabia targeted civilian areas.

However, the Houthis have not commented on the casualties among their forces reported by the Yemeni army.
