Local sources say the body of a young woman has been found in the center of Logar province.
The sources told the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Thursday, September 17, that the woman was about 20 years old. Her body was found in the Abchakan area of the provincial center and was transferred to a hospital.
According to the sources, the woman’s body has been kept in the hospital morgue since Wednesday, but her identity and relatives remain unknown.
The sources confirmed that signs of torture and beatings were visible on the young woman’s body.
The incident comes amid reports of an increase in criminal incidents, killings, and violence against women and girls in Afghanistan.
In a similar incident, local sources recently reported that the bodies of two girls had been found in the Band-e Sabzak area of Badghis province.
According to the sources, the two girls, aged about eight and 16, had first been killed and their bodies were then set on fire.
