Neda Mohammad Nadeem, the Taliban’s Minister of Higher Education, has told Kabul University students to focus on their studies and refrain from political activities and groups.
The Taliban Ministry of Higher Education said in a statement on Thursday, September 17, that Nadeem made the remarks during a welcoming and university orientation session for newly enrolled Kabul University students.
He urged students to make the most of their educational opportunities and stay away from political activities.
Nadeem had previously made a similar request during a visit to Panjshir, urging university students in the province to refrain from political and party-related activities.
The remarks come as the Taliban, since returning to power in Afghanistan, have imposed numerous restrictions on male professors and students, in addition to banning women from attending universities.
