Sirajuddin Haqqani, the Taliban’s acting interior minister, has met with the deputy head of Qatar’s National Security Council and his accompanying delegation.
The Taliban Interior Ministry said in a statement on Thursday, September 17, that the meeting focused on discussions about relations between the Taliban and Qatar.
The two sides discussed improving the Taliban’s engagement with the international community and its role at the international level.
Further strengthening relations and cooperation between the Taliban and Qatar was also among the topics discussed at the meeting.
The meeting comes a day after the Taliban Interior Ministry said in a statement that Sirajuddin Haqqani had met with a joint Turkish-Qatari intelligence delegation.
