The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has reported that 94 commercial vessels have been forced to change course as part of the ongoing US naval blockade of Iran.
CENTCOM said early Tuesday, September 8, that the naval blockade of Iran remains in effect.
The US military said that, as of Monday, in addition to rerouting 94 commercial vessels, its forces had disabled three vessels and inspected two others to ensure compliance with the naval blockade.
This comes as tensions and clashes between US forces and Iranian forces have increased in recent days around the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran, however, has said that the continuation of the US naval blockade amounts to a continuation of the war.
The recent tensions and clashes between Iran and the US have raised concerns about the conflict expanding and its impact on the global economy.
