The Taliban’s Natural Disaster Management Authority in Kunar has reported that the death toll from a deadly earthquake in the province has reached 500 people.

On Monday, September 1, 2025, the National Radio Television, under Taliban control, cited officials from the group in Kunar, stating that these individuals lost their lives in the districts of Nurgal, Suki, Watipur, Manugi, and Chapa Dara.

According to reports, 2,000 people in Kunar province have been injured due to the earthquake so far.

The Taliban emphasized that many individuals remain trapped under rubble, and there is a possibility that the death toll could rise.

Meanwhile, sources indicate that aftershocks are still being felt in the province.

According to sources, telecommunications services in the province have been disrupted.

It is noteworthy that an earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale struck the center of Kunar province around 11:45 p.m. last night.

Local Taliban officials reported that 10 people died and 25 others were injured in Nangarhar province as a result of the earthquake.

However, sources report a shortage of female doctors in health centers in Nangarhar.
