The European Union (EU) in Afghanistan has expressed regret over civilian casualties caused by Pakistani airstrikes in Kunar and Helmand provinces, and called on Afghanistan and Pakistan to exercise restraint and engage in dialogue.
In a statement on Friday, October 2, the EU called on all parties to respect international law and international humanitarian law, and to protect civilians and civilian infrastructure.
The EU added that all parties must take all necessary measures to prevent harm to civilians.
