The Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF) has announced that 37 Taliban fighters were killed and 24 others wounded in clashes with the Taliban in Kamdesh district of Nuristan and Nari district of Kunar.
The front said in a statement on Sunday, September 27, that the clashes began on Saturday morning after the Taliban attacked positions held by its forces and continued with a counterattack by the front.
According to the Afghanistan Freedom Front, several villages in Kamdesh district of Nuristan and Nari district of Kunar have been wrested from Taliban control following the clashes.
The front added that its forces had captured several Taliban outposts and seized several light and heavy weapons.
The Afghanistan Freedom Front said the bodies of the Taliban fighters killed and those wounded in the clashes had been transferred to hospitals in Nuristan and Kunar.
The statement said the Afghanistan Freedom Front’s forces had maintained their positions in areas under their control and had temporarily withdrawn from some vulnerable outposts.
The front also said the Taliban were attempting to divert public attention by spreading false reports and videos allegedly produced under coercion from civilians and domestic travelers in Nuristan province.
