Abolfazl Shekarchi, a senior spokesperson for Iran’s armed forces, has warned the leaders of Arab countries along the southern coast of the Persian Gulf not to wait for U.S. support and to “think about themselves.”
Tasnim reported early Sunday, September 27, that Shekarchi said Iran had so far not attacked the sovereignty of neighboring countries.
According to the report, he claimed that all of Iran’s attacks so far had targeted U.S. bases and interests in those countries.
Shekarchi said: “So far, we have not attacked the sovereignty of neighboring Muslim countries, and Iran’s responses have targeted American interests and facilities in those countries.”
The remarks come as Arab Gulf countries have condemned Iranian missile and drone attacks, describing them as violations of their national sovereignty.
However, during the war with the United States, Tehran launched hundreds of missiles and drones toward Arab Gulf countries as well as Jordan.
