A water supply network designed to convert saline water into fresh water has been completed and commissioned in Faryab Province at a cost of more than 3.4 million Afghanis, with financial support from World Vision International.
Bakhtar News Agency, which is controlled by the Taliban, reported on Sunday, October 18, that the network was built in Khwaja Asfalan village in Chilgazi District of the province.
According to the report, the project’s completion has provided the 600 families living in the village with the drinking water they need.
The network was built to provide residents with safe drinking water by treating saline water to make it suitable for consumption.
This assistance comes as many citizens of Afghanistan, particularly those living in remote areas, lack access to safe and clean drinking water.
