Iranian media have reported that even if Iran and the United States reach a peace agreement, the Strait of Hormuz will not return to its pre-war condition.
Tasnim News Agency reported on Sunday, May 24, that despite claims by some Western media outlets that the Strait of Hormuz would return to its pre-war status within 30 days, the initial understanding only referred to restoring the number of ships allowed to pass to pre-war levels.
According to the report, Iran has emphasized the enforcement of its sovereign rights over the Strait of Hormuz through various means.
The report also stressed that, under the understanding, the naval blockade must be fully lifted within 30 days.
The Iranian media outlet further emphasized that if the naval blockade is not lifted, there will be no change in the situation in the Strait of Hormuz.
Yesterday, reports emerged about progress in diplomatic efforts between Iran and the United States.
