Local sources in Kandahar say that seven people killed and eight injured in last night’s bombing in Kandahar city were transferred to Mirwais Hospital.
Sources told the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Thursday, September 24, that the health condition of some of those injured in the incident is concerning and that all the people transferred to the hospital were construction workers.
According to the sources, the people were transferred to the hospital in ambulances under cover of darkness, and ambulance drivers had been instructed not to use their warning sirens.
There is still no precise information about the possible death toll from the bombing.
Sources say that at around 3:30 a.m. last night, Pakistani fighter jets bombed the Sarai Mullah Sahib area.
According to the sources, the area is now the headquarters of a military unit affiliated with the special forces of Mullah Hibatullah, the Taliban Supreme Leader.
The sources say that the sound of explosions caused by the bombing was heard several kilometres away, alarming residents of Kandahar city.
The sources also say that the intensity of the explosions shattered the windows of homes and buildings near the site of the incident.
