The “Nai Supporting Afghanistan Open Media” organization, which supports free media in Afghanistan, has expressed concern about the situation of Afghanistan’s journalists stranded in Iran and has called for their transfer to a third country.

On Tuesday, 18 June 2025, the organization stated in a press release that, in addition to the threat of Israeli missile attacks, a wave of hostile rhetoric against citizens of Afghanistan is emerging in Iran.

Nai Supporting Afghanistan Open Media has urged United Nations offices and human rights organizations to facilitate the safe transfer of journalists to another country.

The organization also noted that the return of journalists to Afghanistan would be accompanied by threats from the Taliban.

It is worth mentioning that at least two citizens of Afghanistan have been killed in Israeli airstrikes on Iran.

Following the Taliban’s renewed control over Afghanistan, many journalists have sought refuge in neighboring countries out of fear of the Taliban.
