The National Resistance Front of Afghanistan (NRF) has claimed that the Taliban, unable to suppress the national resistance and amid international isolation, have turned to waging a “broad psychological and cognitive war.”
In a statement issued on Thursday, August 27, the group said the Taliban have received support from some of their domestic and international supporters in this campaign.
The statement said the Taliban are using the names of “women, cyber networks, and digital bots” while simultaneously seeking to create distrust, erode social capital, and disrupt efforts to seek justice and continue the struggle.
The NRF said these efforts are being organized using extensive financial resources and through the misuse of foreign aid.
The group called on Afghans to remain vigilant against what it described as the Taliban’s “intelligence tactics” and not allow public and online spaces to be used as tools to advance this psychological campaign.
The National Resistance Front reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, accountability, and responsibility toward the Afghan people, saying it would implement necessary reforms in its structure and activities.
