The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has said that Afghans returning from Pakistan need shelter, education for their children, and livelihood opportunities, and that these needs will increase as winter approaches.
The organisation wrote on its X account on Wednesday, September 16, that Afghans returning from Pakistan are trying to rebuild their lives “from scratch.”
The organisation warned that the approaching winter season will increase returnees’ need for urgent assistance.
The remarks come as the forced return of Afghan migrants continues, while the Taliban have also announced that more than 617,000 people returned to Afghanistan from Iran and Pakistan during the first six months of the current solar year.
