Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said that Pakistan is ready to assist Saudi Arabia in any conflict.
Dawn reported on Wednesday night, September 30, that the Pakistani defense minister made the remarks in a television interview.
According to the report, Asif emphasized that Pakistan would defend Saudi Arabia in any conflict, whether it involved the Houthis, a country, or any other group.
The remarks come as renewed fighting is underway between the Houthis and the Yemeni government, with Riyadh also becoming involved in the conflict.
Earlier, Pakistan’s Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations, Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, said that Pakistan would “leave no stone unturned” to defend Saudi Arabia and that Islamabad’s commitment to the kingdom’s security was “unconditional.”
However, in his latest remarks, Asif said: “There is no doubt in our minds that the Houthis are committing aggression against Saudi Arabia.”
