Saudi authorities issued and later lifted danger alerts twice overnight in southwestern areas over the possibility of attacks by the Houthis.
Al Jazeera reported on Monday, September 14, that the alerts were issued for the cities of Khamis Mushait and Abha.
According to the report, Khamis Mushait and Abha are located in southwestern Saudi Arabia, near the border with Yemen.
The Houthis control Yemen’s most densely populated areas and much of the country’s northern regions. They have carried out attacks against Saudi Arabia since declaring a naval blockade of the kingdom.
