The Saudi-led coalition has announced that it intercepted a ballistic missile launched by the Houthis targeting Khamis Mushait.
Al Jazeera reported early Saturday, September 26, that the announcement was made by the spokesperson for the Saudi-led coalition.
According to the report, the missile was targeting the Khamis Mushait area but was intercepted and destroyed before reaching its target.
The coalition had previously announced that its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed two drones launched by the Houthis toward Riyadh.
Meanwhile, fighting between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis, which had eased in recent years, has intensified again, adding to tensions in a region already destabilized by the war between Iran and the United States.
