Pakistani police have said that four Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) officials were killed in a shooting by unidentified attackers in Dera Ismail Khan, while a traffic police officer was killed in a separate attack in the same area.
Dawn reported late Tuesday, October 6, that the security incidents took place in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Tuesday.
According to the report, police said the attackers fled after the shootings, prompting security forces to cordon off the areas and launch search operations.
Police said that in a separate attack near the Mufti Mahmood Bypass, unidentified attackers opened fire on a traffic police patrol vehicle, killing one officer and injuring another.
The incidents come as several parts of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province have witnessed deadly terrorist attacks in recent weeks.
