Local sources report that airstrikes carried out by Pakistan targeted the provinces of Nangarhar, Paktika, and Khost, leaving at least 23 people trapped under rubble in the Behsud district of Nangarhar.
According to the sources, the strikes occurred around 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, February 21, targeting Behsud and Khogyani districts in Nangarhar, as well as Barmal and Urgun districts in Paktika.
Sources add that parts of Khost province were also hit, though further details are not yet available.
During the attacks, a civilian home in Behsud was struck, burying 23 people, including women and children, under debris.
Additionally, in the Barmal district of Paktika, a mosque, a cattle farm, and a religious school were reportedly targeted.
The Taliban have confirmed the attacks on these provinces and districts.
Meanwhile, the Pakistani military stated that it targeted seven positions of the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and the ISIS groups inside Afghanistan.
The final casualty figures from these strikes have not yet been confirmed.
The Taliban’s Ministry of Defense condemned the attacks and warned that a timely retaliatory response would be carried out.
