Local sources in Baghlan have reported that a bodyguard of Sirajuddin Haqqani, the Taliban’s interior minister, has been killed in the province.
Sources confirmed to the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Saturday, November 7, that the body of one of Haqqani’s personal bodyguards, who had been shot dead, was found on Friday along a road in the Dand Ghori district of the province.
According to the sources, the bodyguard was named Qari Noor Jan Ahmadzai and was known as “Tayeb Badri.”
The sources added that Qari Noor Jan was originally from the Dand Ghori area of Baghlan and had travelled to the province to visit his family.
The killing comes as the Taliban have repeatedly claimed to have ensured security across the country.
