Local sources in Panjshir report that the Taliban have transformed the building of “Radio Khorasan” in this province into their military base.
Sources on Friday, December 1, confirmed to the Hasht-e Subh Daily that for the past two years, the Taliban have relocated their personnel within the premises of this local media building in the “Barakh” area, the center of Panjshir.
According to the sources, the Taliban have destroyed the equipment of “Radio Khorasan” and installed their flag on its antenna.
Sources specify that following the clashes two years ago between the Taliban and the National Resistance Front forces, significant financial losses were inflicted on this radio station.
Additionally, sources add that the two-year efforts of the officials of this private radio station to evict Taliban fighters from the building have so far yielded no results.
“Radio Khorasan” was founded approximately 18 years ago by Ahmad Hanayesh in collaboration with the “PRT” team of American forces.
It was the first private radio station in the Panjshir province that, for years, had intermittent broadcasts in the region.
It is worth mentioning that since their rule in Panjshir, the Taliban have converted several buildings, including schools, health clinics, and people’s homes, into their military bases.
