Local sources have reported that the Taliban has shut down the Hazrat Fatima al-Zahra Cooperative Hospital in the Dasht-e Barchi area of Kabul.
Sources in Kabul confirmed to the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Monday, September 28, that armed personnel affiliated with the Taliban’s Ministry of Justice shut down the hospital on Sunday at Madrasa Station in western Kabul’s Dasht-e Barchi area.
According to the sources, the Taliban personnel removed all patients and staff from the hospital and sealed its doors.
The hospital operated with financial support from an Iranian charitable organization and provided low-cost healthcare services to residents of the area.
Most of its patients were from low-income households.
The Taliban has not yet explained the reason for shutting down the health facility.
The closure comes as the Taliban has shut down several educational, cultural, and sports facilities associated with the Shia community in different parts of Kabul over the past two weeks, including religious schools, a university, a television station, and a sports complex.
