Two former Afghan military personnel have been assassinated by unidentified gunmen in Quetta, the capital of Pakistan’s Balochistan province.
The Dawn newspaper reported on Wednesday, August 26, that the two citizens of Afghanistan were shot dead by unidentified gunmen two nights earlier while passing through an area near Sheikh Zayed Hospital in central Quetta.
According to the report, Pakistani police said that the incident is under investigation.
This comes as a former Afghan National Army officer was also assassinated by unidentified gunmen last month, while four citizens of Afghanistan were killed in the city two weeks ago.
It is worth noting that a large number of former Afghan military personnel have sought refuge in neighboring countries since the Taliban seized power again, fearing arrest, torture, and assassination.
