The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) office in Afghanistan has announced support for women-led businesses and efforts to strengthen resilience against floods in Baghlan province.
The organization said on Tuesday, September 29, on its X account that it appreciated Japan and the Afghanistan Special Trust Fund for their support for the programme.
The assistance comes as women in Afghanistan face widespread restrictions on employment and economic activities.
Meanwhile, floods in parts of the country have damaged homes, agricultural land and people’s sources of income, further complicating the livelihoods of vulnerable families.
