UN Women has announced that 90 percent of female-headed households in Afghanistan do not have access to adequate food.
The organization stated on Sunday, March 8, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, that self-supporting women in Afghanistan face some of the greatest obstacles in meeting the basic needs of their families.
The organization emphasized that supporting women of Afghanistan’s access to food through humanitarian aid can help improve their situation and that of their families.
This comes as many of these women are living in severe economic hardship, with existing restrictions and crises further limiting their access to livelihood resources and food supplies.
