The World Food Programme (WFP), as the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly is underway, says the Afghanistan crisis must not be forgotten and that the situation of families facing hunger and malnutrition requires attention.
The organisation wrote on X on Thursday, September 24, that mothers in Afghanistan bring their malnourished children to nutrition clinics to receive assistance.
The World Food Programme added that hunger and malnutrition continue to threaten families across Afghanistan, while mothers face difficult choices under these circumstances.
Referring to the situation of malnourished children, the organisation stressed that addressing the needs of vulnerable families in Afghanistan should receive attention during the United Nations General Assembly session.
