Dozens of students in Kabul say their student visas for Turkey have been cancelled.
The students told the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Monday, September 14, that they are calling for an immediate and transparent investigation into the process.
According to the students, each of them paid $220 in fees related to the Turkish embassy.
They added that they had also incurred significant expenses for translating and certifying documents, university admission, travel, tuition fees, and accommodation.
The students said that if their issued visas are cancelled, they want to know which institution will be responsible for compensating them for the costs and losses they have incurred.
They called for the official reason for the visa cancellations to be announced, those responsible for the process to be identified, and the losses incurred by the students to be addressed.
The Turkish Embassy has not yet officially commented on the cancellation of the visas or the reasons behind it.
