The Afghanistan United Front has claimed that its forces launched an offensive operation against a Taliban checkpoint in the Nozad area of Helmand province.
In a statement on Saturday, August 29, the front said that six Taliban members were killed as a result of the operation.
The Afghanistan United Front also claimed that the members stationed at the checkpoint had been harassing and extorting local residents.
According to the front, five AK-47 rifles and a quantity of ammunition were also seized by its forces.
Meanwhile, the front claimed that its forces attacked the Taliban’s First Police District in Asadabad, the capital of Kunar province, last night, killing two Taliban police officers.
