Kabul – The Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie has called for the reopening of girls’ schools and the release of women protesters detained in Afghanistan at a ceremony in the European Parliament.

The European Parliament held a program on the situation of Afghan women at a ceremony under the name of “Afghan Woman’s Days” today (Wednesday, February 2), and is supposed to be continued tomorrow as well.

Moreover, the famous Hollywood actress called for the reopening of girls’ schools in Afghanistan as soon as possible.

Furthermore, the meeting also emphasized the release of recently detained women protesters, as well as the observance of women’s full and free participation in work, society, and politics.

On the other hand, Afghan female singer Aryana Sayeed also performed at the meeting.

According to her, the rights of women and girls in Afghanistan should be recognized.

Meanwhile, the meeting is being held in the European Parliament at a time that it has been about five months since girls’ schools were closed to students above sixth grade and a number of female protesters have been arrested and their fate is unknown.
