Masato Kanda, president of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), says that as needs increase and conditions in Afghanistan become more fragile, the bank is expanding its support for the people of the country.
Kanda wrote on Friday, September 25, on the social media platform X that the support will focus on maintaining essential services, strengthening community resilience and expanding livelihood opportunities.
According to him, the Asian Development Bank has supported food security, health and education in Afghanistan through its trusted partners since 2022.
Kanda stressed that the bank’s assistance will continue with close monitoring and accountability.
The bank’s president said that under this support, services needed by women will be provided by women.
