Bahous: We Will Work with Rabab Fatima to Support Afghan Women and Girls

Sima Bahous, Executive Director of UN Women, has welcomed the appointment of Rabab Fatima as the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Afghanistan and head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA).

Bahous congratulated Fatima on her appointment on Saturday, September 19, saying that at this critical time, they will work with her to support the rights, voices, and leadership of Afghan women and girls.

Rabab Fatima was recently appointed as the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Afghanistan and head of UNAMA.

She has previously served in various positions within the United Nations.
