Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, spokesperson for Pakistan’s military, has warned the Taliban to stop sheltering and supporting terrorist groups, saying they will otherwise face serious consequences.
Speaking on Sunday, November 1, Chaudhry said the Taliban could not withstand the “punishment” Pakistan was capable of inflicting on them.
He added that Pakistan was prepared to counter any attempt to test its capabilities, including through drone attacks.
Chaudhry described India as the “biggest sponsor of terrorism” and alleged that the Taliban and armed groups opposed to Pakistan were operating as Indian proxies.
He claimed that terrorist groups enter Pakistan from Afghanistan and that Taliban personnel had also been identified among the attackers.
The Pakistani military spokesperson also described Afghanistan as a country that, in his words, produces only “terrorism and drugs.”
The Taliban have repeatedly rejected Pakistan’s allegations that terrorist groups operate from Afghan territory, attributing Pakistan’s security problems instead to internal challenges and Islamabad’s policies.
