Local sources say Taliban fighters and Pakistani forces have clashed at the Torkham border crossing.
Sources told the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Wednesday, October 28, that intermittent clashes between the two sides had continued since this morning.
According to the sources, both sides used light and heavy weapons during the clashes. Pakistani gunfire wounded a child deported from Pakistan and an employee of an aid organization in Torkham township.
Meanwhile, Taliban fighters and Pakistani forces also clashed yesterday in the Angoor Ada border area of Barmal district in Paktika province.
Pakistani officials said that during Tuesday evening’s clashes, a civilian was killed and five others were wounded when a Taliban mortar shell struck a residential home in South Waziristan.
