Local sources in Nangarhar province report that a young man in the Shadal district of Spin Ghar district of this province has committed suicide due to economic problems.

Sources on Friday, 28 April, say the young man named Aref ended his life at 10:00 pm on Thursday night, 27 April, in Nangarhar.

Aref ended his life with a weapon in his room.

On the other hand, Abdul Basir Zabuli, a spokesman for the Taliban’s security command in Nangarhar, says that Aref was suffering from a mental illness and took his own life for this reason.

This comes as with the Taliban’s takeover of the country, killings due to economic problems have increased.

Yesterday, two women also committed suicide in Kapisa and Faryab provinces.
