Fereshta Abbasi, an Afghanistan researcher at Human Rights Watch, said Pakistani authorities should revoke the order for the expulsion and return of Afghanistan’s students and provide them with an opportunity to continue their education legally.
Abbasi wrote on her X page on Thursday, September 10, that Pakistan should revoke its discriminatory ban on admitting students from Afghanistan by allowing them to register again.
She added that students should be allowed to remain legally in Pakistan and complete their university education.
The researcher called on Pakistani authorities to take the necessary measures to prevent the expulsion of students and the interruption of their education.
The remarks come as Pakistan has ordered students from Afghanistan to leave the country after completing the required administrative procedures.
Human Rights Watch has also called on Pakistani authorities to revoke the order to expel students from Afghanistan studying medicine and allow new students to register.
