Local sources in Ghor have reported a distressing incident involving Taliban fighters forcibly abducting a young girl from her home at gunpoint.
According to information disclosed to the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Thursday, March 28, it has been alleged that several local Taliban commanders in the Pasaband district of Ghor province carried out the abduction without any semblance of consent or compensation. Reports suggest that Khairullah Khairkhah, the district governor, Abdul Hamid Khalid, the security commander, Mohammad Moshfeq, the intelligence deputy, and Tawhidi, the intelligence officer of Pasaband district, were involved in the raid on the girl’s residence.
Sources intimate that the girl in question was already engaged, and the Taliban, disregarding any form of compensation, forcibly took her and purportedly married her off to her fiancé.
Footage received by Hasht-e Subh Daily further reveals Taliban fighters subjecting the young girl and her family members to physical assault.
As of now, the Taliban have not issued any statement concerning the matter.
This incident resonates with a similar occurrence in December of last year, when Taliban fighters in Takhar abducted a teenage girl, coercing her into marriage with one of their members.
