Sergey Naryshkin, director of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service, has arrived in Kabul on an official visit and met with Abdul Haq Wasiq, the Taliban’s intelligence chief.

Bakhtar News Agency, under the Taliban control, reported on Wednesday evening, October 14, that the two sides discussed “important” issues during the meeting.

However, further details about the topics discussed and the objectives of Naryshkin’s visit to Kabul have not been released.

So far, neither Russian nor Taliban officials have issued an official statement about the visit or the outcome of the meeting.
