The Taliban have announced that 202 families comprising 860 people were returned to Afghanistan yesterday through various routes.
Hamdullah Fitrat, the Taliban deputy spokesperson, said in a statement on Tuesday, October 6, that 125 families comprising 525 people had entered Afghanistan through the Nimruz border.
According to the statement, 44 families returned to Afghanistan through Torkham, eight families through Spin Boldak, and another 25 families through the Islam Qala border.
The return of migrants continues as the approach of winter leaves returning families facing various challenges, including a lack of shelter and shortages of necessities.
Meanwhile, the need for food, health services, drinking water, and adequate shelter is among the challenges facing families who have returned to the country in recent months.
